Privacy Policy

We collect account and profile information such as your name, email address, date of birth, competition gender, city, running club, profile photo, and optional social profile identifiers.

When you record a Run, ROVA collects precise GPS coordinates, timestamps, accuracy, speed, altitude, Course progress, finish time, and information needed to confirm that the full Course was completed. We also collect device and app information such as notification tokens, app version, operating system, and permission status.

We use this information to create and secure accounts, determine Season eligibility and divisions, record and confirm Runs, calculate leaderboards and Season Standings, investigate Run issues, send requested notifications, support testers, and improve ROVA.

ROVA does not sell personal information or use precise Run locations for advertising.

ROVA may display your runner name, profile photo, city, club, competition division, age division, Course times, average pace, mile splits, rankings, points, earned badges, and the date of a confirmed Season Run. Signed-in runners may open these performance details from Course leaderboards and runner profiles.

Your recorded GPS line and raw GPS points are not shown to other runners. Practice Runs, Runs awaiting review, and times that were not posted also remain private. Date of birth, email address, and device identifiers are not shown to other runners. ROVA race operations may review raw GPS records when a Run needs review.

ROVA relies on service providers that process information on our behalf, including Supabase for authentication and database services, Mapbox for maps, Expo and Apple TestFlight for app delivery and notifications, and Vercel for the website. Their handling of information is also governed by their own privacy terms.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand visits to our public website, including page views, referring websites, approximate visitor location, and browser and device information. We exclude admin, invitation, and account recovery pages from this tracking and remove URL query parameters and fragments before sending page views. We do not send beta form answers, email addresses, or account details as analytics events.

We retain account and competition information while your account is active and as reasonably needed to operate the league, resolve disputes, maintain security, or satisfy legal obligations. We use access controls and encrypted network connections, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

You can update profile information and notification preferences in ROVA. You may initiate permanent account deletion from Settings. Deletion removes your authentication account, profile, Season entries, Run history, raw GPS records, settings, notifications, and profile photo, subject to limited retention required by law or security needs.

ROVA is currently intended for adults age 18 and older. We may update this policy as the beta and league evolve. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date.
